Key Changes Affecting Faculty Appointments:
- New Appointment Module: The CHRS Temporary Academic Employment (TAE) Module will replace the way we currently generate appointment notifications (contracts) in PeopleSoft.
- Streamlined Workflow: The TAE module includes a built-in approval workflow within the system, eliminating the need for Adobe Sign for many transactions. This streamlined process aims to reduce delays and improve flexibility by allowing revisions and edits to appointments without the need to cancel or restart the process.
- System-Generated Appointment Notifications: The system will automatically generate appointment notifications, replacing our current “Temp faculty contracts”. These notifications follow a CSU-wide template and the language on each notification varies for the different job classifications and pay plans. You will find campus-specific information provided on a separate web page linked from the appointment notification.
- Faculty Acknowledgement: Faculty will no longer sign appointment notifications in Adobe Sign or hard-copy. Instead, faculty will acknowledge receipt of their appointment notification by reviewing it within the CHRS self-service portal. Faculty will receive an email notice when their appointment notification is available for review in CHRS.
