Congratulations, Rita!

Rita Parai, associate professor of Earth, environmental, and planetary sciences, received this year's Dean's Early-Career Research Award. This award recognizes outstanding achievements in research and creative activity by scholars who have recently been awarded tenure.

International Observe the Moon Night

We're celebrating International Observe the Moon Night this Saturday, September 14.

Join us in 301 Rudolph Hall from 7-10 for pizza and moon pies with info on WashU lunar research, moon stories, and videos.

Go to Crow Observatory from 8-11 for views of the Moon through the telescope. Snacks provided!

2024 Robert M. Walker Distinguished Lecture

Dr. Harold Levison is an Institute Scientist at the Southwest Research Institute and the principal investigator of the Lucy Mission to tour the Jupiter Trojan asteroids. His research interests lie in the dynamics of astronomical objects. In particular, he focuses on the formation and long-term behavior of solar system bodies. Dr. Levison's work includes studies of the formation of both giant and terrestrial planets, the long-term dynamical behavior of comets, the dynamics of objects in the Kuiper belt, the origin and stability of Trojan asteroids, and the formation of satellites.
