History After Hours

This quarter Professor Jarett Henderson launched the series History After Hours for the students in his World History class. Through the series, he invites speakers (some graduate students and postdocs) to explore how their skills apply to work in digital humanities, podcasting, archives, museums, heritage at state parks, etc. While Professor Henderson created the series with his students in mind, he invites interested members of the public to join as well.

History Grads Win Teaching Awards

While navigating the uncertainties of this COVID year, these Teaching Assistants went above and beyond for their students. Donna Doan Anderson and Mika Thornburg won the Faculty Senate's Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award. Sarah Dunne won the Graduate Student Association's Excellence in Teaching Award. We couldn't be happier that their hard work and dedication to our students were recognized with these prestigious awards.

Alumna Spotlight: Alison Rose Jefferson

For this issue's spotlight, meet Alison Rose Jefferson, PhD (2015). As a public intellectual, she works in various capacities as historian, author, speaker, and consultant. Her academic training is a brilliant example of our Public History program at work.
