Welcome to the Spring 2022 issue of From the Archives, the UCSB Library’s newsletter highlighting all things related to Special Research Collections (SRC). A trove of manuscripts, photographs, audio-visual materials and more, SRC is the University’s home for scholarship surrounding our most valuable and rare materials. We hope you enjoy learning more about SRC and its role in providing access to primary source materials that support excellent scholarship and research.
This quarter, we review the exceptional musical legacy of composer and conductor Arthur B. Rubinstein, whose archives are housed in the Performing Arts Collection; the recent Albert & Elaine Borchard Foundation grant to digitize the Marcel Nicolle Collection of 19th-century exhibition catalogs; and a recording of the Library's recent event, "Relive the 1890s with Hancock's California Orchestra."
