| Sunday School Pool Party: All Sunday school children and their families are invited to an end-of-year celebration on Sunday, May 31, in the afternoon. America250 Closing Celebration: Christ Church’s observance of America250 will conclude on Sunday, June 28 with a special service of Morning Prayer at 11:15 a.m. The liturgy will include patriotic music and prayers for the nation. It will be followed by a festive reception in the C. Boyden Gray Auditorium. All parishioners and members of the wider community are cordially invited to attend.

| Veterans and Military-Serving Parishioners: We are considering the idea of starting a Veterans Affinity Mission at Christ Church, and organizing a Veterans Dinner on Veterans Day, November 11th 2026. If you would like to be a part of this group, please email us here and indicate whether you are a Veteran or currently serving in the Military. You will then be kept up to date with any plans going forward.
Women’s End-of-Season Dinner Party: Mrs. Bobbi Smith invites the women of Christ Church to her home for a dinner party this evening, May 6, at 6:30 p.m. Come ready to reminisce over the good things God has done for us this year, and to look forward to His faithfulness in what is yet to come! Eastertide Book Study: The Saint Francis Guild, Christ Church’s animal welfare and creation care mission group, invites parishioners and members of the wider community to participate in an eight-week, online book study on Wednesdays, at 6:30 p.m. Led by Dr. Susan Bond, attendees are delving into For the Love of Animals by Charles Camosy, an exploration of God’s desire for our treatment of fellow creatures. Thursday Morning Bible Study: This semester, participants in the Thursday Morning Bible Study are exploring the Revelation to Saint John, an ancient book filled with vivid descriptions and startling imagery – one that shows us God’s world as it truly is. The remaining session will take place on Thursday May 14, at 8:00 a.m., in Keith Hall. For more information, contact parishioners Ernest Clark or Virginia Mentz.
Bite-sized Bible Study: Join fellow parents of nursery and Sunday School-aged children for a team-led, 30-minute exploration of the Book of Acts. The group gathers on Sundays, at 10:15 a.m., in the Memorial Room. Nursery care for infants and toddlers, as well as music formation classes for older children, is provided during this time. Choral Evensong: The next service of Choral Evensong will take place on Sunday, May 17, at 5:00 p.m. A reception will follow. The final service of the 2025-2026 season will take place on Sunday, May 31. Christ Church is one of a handful of parishes in the U.S. to offer this beautiful, quintessentially Anglican liturgy with such frequency. Do join us… and bring a friend!
Centering Prayer: All are invited to participate in a weekly, community-led time of centering prayer and Lectio Divina on Tuesdays, from 8:45 to 9:30 a.m., via Zoom. Drawn from the monastic tradition, these practices offer an intentional way for individuals to make themselves available to God, acknowledging that “we do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us.” Join the video call here. Marriage and Relationships: Led by Mother Tiffany and Dr. Ernest Clark, this five-week interactive course combines sacramental theology with practical approaches intended to prepare and strengthen couples that they might thrive in the trenches of life. The remaining two sessions will take place on Sundays, May 10 and 17, at 10:00 a.m., in Keith Hall. Register here.
Women’s Bible Study: Join the women of Christ Church as they seek to meet Jesus in the pages of the Gospel according to Saint Matthew. This semester, participants have been exploring Christ’s fulfillment of Isaiah’s Messianic prophecies, his inauguration of a kingdom that upends human expectations of greatness, and his calls for participation in that kingdom’s way of life. The final session of the current series will take place on Monday, May 11, at 6:00 p.m., in the Memorial Room. For more information, contact Mother Tiffany.
Altar Flowers: If you would like to make a contribution to help offset the cost of the flowers that will adorn the altar on a particular Sunday or feast day, contact the Parish Office. The Flower Guild accepts contributions in memory of the departed, in celebration of births, and in thanksgiving for the reception of Christian sacraments. Contributions marking private secular celebrations are welcome, but they will not be acknowledged in service leaflets or the Prayers of the People. In such cases, donors are encouraged to let loved ones know of their contribution with a greeting card. The suggested donation is $150.
Thrift Shop Update: The Christ Church Thrift Shop, located on the Lower Level of Linthicum Hall, is in dire need of your assistance as inventory has reached a critical low. Please consider donating your unused or unwanted treasures at this time: clothing, jewelry, antiques, china, glassware, household items, etc. The Thrift Shop is open on Wednesdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Donations are accepted on Wednesdays during the Thrift Shop’s normal hours of operation or by appointment via the Parish Office. Thrift Shop volunteers have begun offering a home pick-up service on Sundays for those who live within one mile of Christ Church. To schedule an appointment, click here. Note: The Thrift Shop will be open on Saturday, May 9, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m., in conjunction with the Georgetown Garden Tour.
Garden Service Update: Due to significantly increased attendance at the 9:00 a.m. Eucharist, a wonderfully positive trend in the parish, the Rector has decided that the service will not move into the Chapel Garden this summer. This difficult decision is also based, in part, on the fact that a number of families with small children were not able to attend the Garden Service last summer due to high temperatures. The clergy and staff are exploring the possibility of periodic services in the Chapel Garden.
