2018 Town of Vienna Holiday Window Decorating Contest

It's The Most Wonderful Time...

Town of Vienna 2018 Halloween Parade - Best In Show!!

2018 - The Year of the Werewolves! For the third year in a row, School of Rock Vienna won an award for its Halloween Parade Float. In 2016 (our first year) and 2017 we placed 1st in the "Float With Music" category. But this year, we placed 1st overall for BEST IN PARADE!!
We are very proud of our team that pulls this together every year, our House Band who rocked on the float, and our JV House "Band of Wolves" who marched with the float this year! Thank you so much to the Town of Vienna for organizing this great event each year! We're already planning for 2019! "We are the champions, my friends!!"

Holiday Happenings

It's that time of year once again... time for our Annual Holiday Party and Gift Exchange in our show rehearsals. The parties will be held during each Performance Program Group Rehearsal the week of December 17th! This year, the Show Directors will be mixing it up a bit. Be on the lookout for an email to parents, as well as posts in each show's Facebook Group for details. 
Please plan to bring some goodies to the party to share! If your last name begins with A to L, please bring a holiday treat to share at your party. If your last name begins with M thru Z, please bring canned drinks to share.

Our 3-Day Winter Break Mini Camp is back again this year. School of Rock Vienna’s winter music camps are the perfect way for your kid to spend their holiday break. Dive into themed music camps in Vienna, VA where students learn music skills and techniques during local holiday breaks.
This Winter's theme is Emo Music (Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Sunny Day Real Estate, Jimmy Eat World, Panic! at the Disco, etc.,) and is based off of one of our most popular Performance Season Show Themes! This camp is sure to fill up fast!

What is your favorite thing about SOR Vienna? The people are so kind and amazing. It's awesome to be around people who take music as seriously as you do!
What is one of the most important lessons you’ve learned from your time here? I've learned to manage my time properly and sort out my priorities.
What advice would you give to all the new SOR student musicians? Try not to stress about the small things and just have fun!

House Band Auditions!!

The time to prepare is NOW! House Band and JV House Band Auditions are right around the corner!
Our audition-only bands are comprised of our best-and-brightest. The students in these bands are given more challenging material at a quicker pace and have to rise to the challenge. 
Auditions will be held at the school in mid-January specific dates/times TBD). There will also be a Mandatory Parent & Student Meeting. Be on the lookout for additional audition details coming soon!
In the meantime, if you have any questions, please speak with Travis and Dante regarding the audition process and criteria.

Alumni Reunion Show

We have gathered a gaggle of SOR alumni and have put together a massive set which is sure to be an amazing time full of high quality music and some old faces who have moved on to new places. 
All proceeds will benefit the Loudoun County Womens Shelter. Come support a great cause, see some old friends and rock the night away.

Holiday & Inclement Weather Policy Information

IWith the holiday winter season upon us, we want to remind you about how we communicate closures.

Inclement Weather
We do not follow the county school closures. Frequently they make decisions in the morning based on whether or not the buses can maneuver through the neighborhoods. We make our decision to open/close based on whether or not our staff can safely come to work. If we are open and you cannot make your lesson, we will do our best to find a make up lesson for you but cannot guarantee you will get one.

We will announce our Open/Closed status on inclement weather days by 1PM by sending you an email (Pike 13) and posting on our school Facebook page and in our show groups.  So be sure to check your inbox and social media prior to heading out.  See our links below and like us on our FB page.

Upcoming Holidays
 We will be closed the week of December 24th thru January 1st.

Please Note:  Four inclement weather/holiday closures are built into your tuition fee schedule and no make ups are given for these closures. Should we go over the four built in days, we will schedule a make up day to cover the closure.  We have already had our make up day for the winter break closure.
