August Newsletter

As we begin the fall semester, the Office of Student Veterans is excited to continue to assist and support our incoming and current student population!
We hope to start the semester off strong with resource sharing and community building via the Open House in August, as well as an Opening Hail in September. See below for more information on those two amazing events!
For those who are new, welcome! And for those returning, welcome back! As a reminder, our office is always available for questions or concerns. Please don't hesitate to reach out. We look forward to seeing you all very soon.

Open House - August 31st, 2023
Opening Hail - September 17th, 2023 

Open House

The Duke Office of Student Veterans will be hosting an Open House on August 31st, 2023 from 1600-1800. This is a chance for incoming (or current) students to learn more about our office,  other campus partners, and what resources are available to our military-affiliated community. 
There will be new student veteran travel mugs, lanyards, and shirts available, so come out and learn how Duke supports their veterans!

Opening Hail

The Office of Student Veterans is hosting an Opening Hail on Sunday, Septemeber 17th, 2023 from 1400-1600 at Hi-Wire Brewing. This is an opportunity for incoming and current military-affiliated students to meet and build rapport! Partners and family members are welcome to attend!

Job Posting - Graduate Assistantship with the Office of Student Veterans

Do you enjoy being a part of this military-affiliated community and want to help it grow and prosper? Consider applying to work for the Office of Student Veterans
Work in cooperation with the Dean of Students Office staff to create, execute, and support programs and services for military-affiliated students enrolled at Duke University. Using the OSV's three pillars, the graduate assistant will assist fellow military-affiliated students by advocating for them university-wide, creating community-building opportunities, and connecting them to resources that can make their time at Duke a great and memorable one! 
This position requires in-person hours during business hours and some nights and weekends. If you are interested, please email us with an attached resume. We look forward to hearing from you all and are excited to add another member to our team!

Open Door Availability

The Office of Student Veterans will be available throughout the school year. Although we will not have official office hours, we are readily able to assist you at any time most convenient for you.
