Computer scientist works to bring oasis to food deserts

People who live far from grocery stores — in areas known as food deserts — end up with unhealthy and costly options for their meals. Ronald Metoyer, a computer scientist who specializes in data visualization and human-computer interaction, intends to solve this problem with an app and ingenuity. Marie Lynn Miranda stepping aside as provost

Marie Lynn Miranda, the Charles and Jill Fischer Provost of the University of Notre Dame, has announced her intention to step aside as provost, effective Dec. 31. Christine M. Maziar, vice president and senior associate provost, will serve as interim provost. In a letter to faculty and academic staff, Notre Dame President Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., expressed his appreciation to the provost. The full letter can be read here

Such concerns have guided her not only at Notre Dame, but throughout her career. Excitement continues for Coach Freeman

We thought you'd like to see a few more photos from Coach Marcus Freeman's news conference as we wait for him to take the field against Oklahoma State on Jan. 1 in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Arizona. Notre Dame introduced Freeman as the 30th Dick Corbett Head Football Coach at a news conference on Dec. 6.
