Important Pool Opening Information

We are hopeful that all three pools will open on Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m. However, the construction on the outdoor site work, particularly at the Community Center, is on a very tight schedule. If there are any delays this week, the Community Center Pool might not open on time. We will post an update later this week at www.ken-carylranch.org. Also, the new splash pad and playground at the Community Center will not open until mid-June. We apologize for any inconvenience. See our website for Pool Hours or Summer Swim Pass Validation information.

Trash Service Delay Week of Memorial Day

This is a reminder from the Ken-Caryl Ranch trash service provider, Waste Connections, that Memorial Day is an observed holiday. Trash and recycling for all customers will be delayed one day the week of Memorial Day. Waste Connections offers an auto-dial service called Call Fire to notify customers of delays or changes in trash pickup days. You can sign up for this service at www.wcdenver.com/contact/. Complete the required information, click on Residential Trash Service, then in the comment section at the bottom of the page explain that you are a Ken-Caryl resident seeking to sign up for the Call Fire service.

Memorial Day Ceremony at Noon at Veterans Monument

Residents are invited to visit the Veterans Monument at Ken-Caryl Ranch on Memorial Day, May 30 at noon for a special ceremony to honor our local heroes. The Ken-Caryl Veterans Community Allies Group will be laying a wreath in honor of all those who have served this great country. There will also be bubbles and cookies for the kiddos. The monument is located at the southeast corner of Crestone Mountain and Sangre de Cristo Road in Community Park.

Trail Maintenance Update

Trail maintenance is in progress this week on the Colorow Trail between the Mountain Willow access point and Manor House Trail as well as the Deerwood Access Trail. Machinery and workers with tools will be present, which may impede use. Users should proceed with caution or choose other trails to use this week. Please see our Trail Map for trail locations.

C-470 Resurfacing Project

On Sunday, May 22, the Colorado Department of Transportation began an $8.2 million project to resurface C-470 from south of the I-70 and C-470 interchange to Exit 10 at Ken Caryl Ave. Work is scheduled for completion in October 2016. Motorists can expect single-lane closures Sundays through Thursdays from 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., with speeds reduced to 55 miles per hour in the construction zone. Some highway exit and entrance ramps will also be impacted overnight. The resurfacing is designed to restore the current pavement, add an overlay of asphalt, repair several bridge joints and apply new pavement markings along the length of the project. Additionally, 15 deer ramps and over 7,800 linear feet of new fencing will be installed to keep wildlife from entering the highway.
