Hello Dunn County 4-H Families!
April was a very active month for many 4-H'ers. It was nice seeing so many of you at project and club meetings. I hope to get out to more project meetings in May and June.
As we start getting ready for the fair, but sure to have your projects selected in www.4honline.com. Many of you have done this when you enrolled, but you have a few more days to change or add anything if you wish.
Selecting 4-H projects in 4-H online is the first step in your fair journey. Later this month you will have to select your specific entries on the FairEntry website. There is more information, including some help sessions, in this newsletter.
You will also find:
|
- Volunteer Opportunities
- Golf Classic Information
-
Adult Award Applications
- Project Days
- Cloverbud Day Camps
- Outdoor Adventure Days
- Much More!
|
Also, thank you to everyone who filled out the Programming Needs Assessment. We have 50 families complete the survey! I'll take the feedback and use it to create programming that fits your needs, times, and locations.
Finally, thank you to everyone who played along with the April Fools jokes last month. In case you didn't catch it, the jokes were a volunteer trip to Hawaii, a dinosaur training session, and a trip to Mars. I also accepted the Programming Needs Assessment since I accidently used the wrong picture. I sent and email to all of our winners.
I hope everyone has a great end to their school year! As always, please reach out if you have any questions.

I will be offering two Fair Entry help sessions.

- Thursday, May 28, 6-8pm
- Wednesday, July 1, 6-8pm
|
Both sessions will be held over zoom. They will begin with a short presentation on how to enter your projects, and then I will be available to to answer questions. You are welcome to come at 6pm for the presentation, or drop in anytime between 6-8pm to get your questions answered.
I've included a Fair Entry tip sheet. Please read it before you make your entries.
|
|
|
|
|
| If you would like to take entries to the Dunn County Fair, you must sign up for your projects in 4honline by May 5th.

Cloverbuds are able to take three non-animal projects to the Dunn County Fair. When it comes time to sign up on FairEntry, you will want to choose "Youth Organizations, Dept 17." There you will find Cloverbuds and can select "Entry 1, 2 and 3." Then, you can bring ANY non animal project you find in the fairbook.
Although Cloverbuds cannot bring animals, we have a couple of opportunities to get them ready for when the time comes.

As we are getting ready for fair season, this is a good time to share some information about the fairs. This month's Exploring 4-H Newsletter talks about how fairs are organized and how you have help your member find success.
It is important to note that fairs are just one of many ways 4-H'ers show what they know. Participation in fairs is not required, but it is highly encouraged. For many families, it is the highlight of their summer.
Being new is scary. Please don't hesitate to reach out to Zac or your club leader if you have any questions. We're here to help.
