  1. Two GVSU alumni have been nominated for the Midwest Association of Graduate Schools (MAGS) Distinguished Master's Thesis Awards. Read the full story on TGS News and Information. Congratulations, Nicholas Preville and Julie Oosterink!

  2. The Graduate Student Association is seeking nominations from graduate students for faculty members who have made an impact. More info can be found on TGS website. Send nominations to gradschool@gvsu.edu by Friday, November 12, 2021.

  3. GVSU is conducting the seventh myGVSU climate survey to support the goal of providing a rich, inclusive learning and working environment. Students are encouraged to participate in the online survey from November 17 to December 1, 2021.

  4. Students completing a thesis or dissertation in Fall 2021 must defend by November 29, 2021, and submit all documents for final approval by December 17, 2021. Resources for completing a thesis or dissertation are available on TGS website.

  5. The easiest and fastest way to apply for graduation is through myBanner. After logging in, select Student, then Student Records, and Apply to Graduate. Students must apply to graduate to participate in their Commencement ceremony.

  6. Communications graduate student Brittany Bahl had the opportunity to present her paper at the annual conference of the Midwest Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association. Congratulations, Brittany!

SAVE THE DATE
November 1, 2021: Academic Conference Fund opening application date for travel between January 1, 2022 and March 31, 2022 (including virtual conferences)
November 29, 2021: Final day to defend thesis or dissertation
December 3, 2021: Graduate School Citations from 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Hagers-Lubbers Exhibition Hall and Loosemore Auditorium
December 17, 2021: Last day to submit final documents to TGS for thesis or dissertation
