This month I am very excited to present our hot off the press “Mongan Institute 2021-2022 Impact Report.” Please take a few minutes to view this truly astonishing compendium of accomplishments, honors, and initiatives by our extraordinary staff, faculty, trainees, and leadership over a very challenging past two years.

Adjoa Anyane-Yeboa, MD, MPH

Congratulations to Adjoa Anyane-Yeboa, MD, MPH (Clinical and Translational Epidemiology Unit) on her promotion to Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Adjoa received her MD from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and subsequently trained in internal medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she also served as Chief Resident. In 2020, she was recruited to our Division of Gastroenterology and the CTEU as an Instructor in Medicine at HMS. Her research focuses on health equity, diversity and inclusion, and the elimination of health disparities in gastrointestinal disorders with a focus on inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer. She is also actively involved in a messaging campaign to increase colorectal cancer screening in Black communities in partnership with the Boston Public Health Commission.
Congratulations to Peggy Lai, MD, MPH (Clinical and Translational Epidemiology Unit) on being promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Peggy received her MD from Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons and trained in internal medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital, where she served as Assistant Chief Resident. Upon completion of her fellowship she joined the pulmonary division faculty at MGH as an Assistant in Medicine and Instructor in Medicine at HMS. She was promoted to Assistant Professor of Medicine in 2017 and joined the CTEU in 2020. Her research focuses on investigating the effect of environmental exposures on lung disease. She also serves as a member of the American Thoracic Society serving on the International Health Committee, and as co-chair of the International Conference Working Group.

Senior Data Analyst - 3209899
The Mongan Institute in the Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a full time Senior Data Analyst to manage its Data Management and Analytic Program. Reporting to and working closely with the Institute Director and Administrative Director, the candidate will lead the development of a new Data Management and Analytics Program (DMAP) that will support the Institute’s 13 research centers and programs. Once established, the program will offer a range of data management and analysis services, including statistical and study design consultation, research protocol development, web-based survey development, data management plans, analysis and interpretation of data, and assistance in presenting and disseminating results.

The Mongan Institute in the Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a full time Staff Assistant. Primary responsibilities of this role include reporting to and working closely with the Institute Administrative Director, providing administrative support for the Institute Director and several Mongan Center Directors, and general office administration and operations. Tasks may include coordinating and scheduling of meetings and conference calls, facilitating travel arrangements, managing Institute payroll and supply chain needs, and supporting human resource activities across the Institute. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-directed organized professional to work with internationally recognized experts and support our mission of transforming healthcare and achieving health equity locally, nationally, and globally.
