Anchored in Our Values Learning Series
As a new student, you are required to complete the Anchored in Our Values Learning Series to assist with making informed choices regarding your health and safety, as well as the health and safety of other students and the larger Vanderbilt community. Information regarding these modules has been sent from @safecolleges.com with the subject line “Mandatory: Anchored in Our Values Learning Series.” The modules will need to be completed by the deadlines issued in the email.

Experience Vanderbilt
Experience Vanderbilt (EV) is a student-led, university-supported initiative that provides undergraduate students who qualify for need-based financial aid with funding for extracurricular activities that have fees. Applications will be available online in August. Stay updated with EV on Instagram.

International Student Orientation:
International Student Orientation (ISO) welcomes new international students to Vanderbilt prior to the arrival of their domestic peers. Beginning on International Move-In Day, August 19, you are invited to participate in a series of sessions designed to support your transition to college. ISO will also offer you a chance to settle in and meet new people before the rest of the cohort arrives. International and domestic transfer students living abroad are welcome to attend ISO, but it is not required. If you would like to participate, please email residentialcolleges@vanderbilt.edu by July 15. At the conclusion of ISO, you will join your peers and participate in the required Transfer Student Orientation, which begins on August 21. The 2026 ISO schedule is now available online.
Students not participating in ISO will move in with their peers on August 21—no further action is needed.

International Student Orientation for U.S. Citizens Living Abroad:
Domestic students living abroad are invited to participate in International Student Orientation (ISO). If you would like to join ISO and have not already indicated this, please email residentialcolleges@vanderbilt.edu by July 15. ISO participants may also request free airport transportation and pre-purchase a $55 linen package.
Students not participating in ISO will move in with their peers on August 21—no further action is needed. The ISO schedule is now available online.

Transfer Student Orientation
Transfer Student Orientation (TSO) is the required orientation for incoming transfer students, and it takes place immediately before the start of classes. TSO is designed to offer you a robust introduction to life at Vanderbilt, including informational sessions and small-group discussions to help you navigate your academic program, campus resources, extracurricular activities and student life on Vanderbilt’s campus. Through TSO, you will also have the opportunity to connect with Transfer Student Leaders (TSLs), juniors and seniors who transferred to Vanderbilt themselves, and other incoming transfer students. You will also interact with faculty, staff and campus resource partners. Together, you will begin to discover the personal, academic, intellectual and social opportunities of life at Vanderbilt. There are also opportunities for your families to learn more about campus. The 2026 TSO schedule is now available online.

ISSS SEVIS Check-In Info:
After arrival to the U.S. and to Vanderbilt, all incoming international students entering with an Initial or Transfer Pending I-20 or DS-2019 must complete a mandatory SEVIS Check-in. The check-in process is virtual and collects copies of your F-1 or J-1 status documents and the information ISSS needs to report your arrival in SEVIS. You must also complete the SEVIS check-in process prior to completing your I-9 (for on-campus employment), or before applying for a Social Security Number (SSN), driver’s license or state ID card. Move-In Day Transportation
Transportation assistance is available if you elect to participate in ISO and are arriving at the Nashville International Airport on Wednesday, August 19. Vanderbilt staff members will be on hand to greet you and help you travel from the airport to campus. Complete the pre-arrival form via the Housing Portal by July 15 to let us know your travel plans. If you have questions about your travel arrangements, please contact residentialcolleges@vanderbilt.edu.

Shipping Packages for Move-In
Mail Services processes all incoming mail and packages for students living on-campus during Move-In Weekend. Please make every effort to combine items for shipping to campus to limit excessive amounts of packages.
Please do not ship packages prior to August 5. Packages will be ready for pickup at the Student Life Center Garage temporary location (just off Vanderbilt Place) or at the Station B Post Office (Rand Hall) beginning during Transfer Student Move-In on August 21. You will receive an email package notification for each package received, with instructions on the pick-up location.
If you receive a package that does not belong to you, please bring it to one of the Mail Services centers as soon as possible. More details about shipping packages can be found online.

Each summer, International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) hosts a series of virtual pre-arrival sessions to get you prepared for arrival and help you maximize your experience and success. Topics include navigating the visa interview, employment, safety and more. Sessions have been recorded and shared online.
