Advising Period is here!
We know that many of you have questions pertaining to your course selection for next semester and your general prehealth plans. With that in mind, our team is offering a general advising session TODAY that is open to all undergrads and alumni! 
Make sure to register in advance!
We would also like to share some resources to help you prepare for registration:

November 16 - 24
Registration Period - Check Academic Calendar for specific registration dates
November 17
Last Day for Undergraduate AS&E students to WITHDRAW from Courses. Through this date, Undergraduate First-Year Students may DROP Courses without Record of Enrollment; all others receive a Grade of W upon withdrawing after the 5-week drop deadline.

November 25
Deadline for Undergraduate Students to submit graduation packets for May and August 2021 Graduation
November 25 - 27
No Classes (Thanksgiving Holiday)
EXPLORE HEALTH PROFESSIONS WEEK
November 14 - 19 | Virtual Event
If you are considering a future career in the health professions, this virtual event is your one-stop-shop to explore over 20 career options. Registrants receive access to a personalized website with curated, on-demand content introducing the participating health professions, as well as access to exclusive live events featuring opportunities for one-on-one career advice.
Participating professions include: Anesthesiologist Assistant, Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology, Chiropractic, Dental Professions, Health Administration, Medicine, Naturopathic Medicine, Nurse Anesthetist, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Orthotics and Prosthetics, Osteopathic Medicine, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, Podiatric Medicine, Public Health, Respiratory Therapy, & Veterinary Medicine.
AAMC VIRTUAL MINORITY STUDENT MEDICAL CAREER FAIR

This AAMC event provides a wonderful opportunity for students to get additional networking experience, professional development, and to better understand the wealth of free resources available to them through the AAMC!
PRE-VET EVENT
November 14th |10AM - 2:30 PM ET | Virtual Event
The Tufts WAZE (Wildlife, Aquatic, Zoo, & Exotics) Club at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine will be hosting their annual Symposium tomorrow, November 14th from 10am-2:30pm EST. 

They will be broadcasting virtually for FREE, and would like to invite students from other institutions (DVM, undergraduate, graduate, or anyone interested in conservation medicine) to join us!

SPOTLIGHT ON RESOURCES: 
Explore Health Careers is a free, online resource which a wide variety of information on the range of health profession options. ExploreHealthCareers.org’s mission is to help solve two urgent problems in U.S. health care: the under-representation of minorities in the workforce and the shortage of health professionals in medically underserved communities.
Working in conjunction with the Federation of Associations of Schools of the Health Professions (FASHP), they provide verified, up-to-date information and resources to help you determine if a career in health care is for you, how to navigate the application process, financial considerations and a scholarship search tool and more!
VOLUNTEEER OPPORTUNITY 
The global pandemic changed how we interact with one another and how we approach volunteer opportunities. Many organizations have pivoted away from in-person volunteering, but that does not make the virtual opportunities any less valuable to your development as a prehealth student!
Take a look at our list of over 100+ volunteer opportunities in the area. We will be updating this list throughout the semester, so be sure to check back often!
Here is one organization that has openings and can help you develop several competencies! 
Boston Area Rape Crisis Center
BARCC provides free, confidential support and services to survivors of sexual violence ages 12 and up and their families and friends. They work with survivors of all genders, and empower survivors to heal and seek justice in ways that are meaningful to them. They also assist them as they navigate the health-care, criminal legal, social service, and school systems.

GROWTH YEAR OPPORTUNITY

Medical Assistant Position
Chelmsford, MA
1 to 2 year commitment
Dermcare Physicians and Surgeons offers a dynamic and educational opportunity to recent graduates who are interested in gaining experience in both General Dermatology and Surgery through on-site Medical Assistant training with their Gap Year Program.  This is a paid full-time position with a commitment of at least one to two years. 

They are offering a Zoom open house with Dr. Helen Raynham and current growth year student to answer questions regarding the program on December 4th at 5pm. Students can contact Jo Calnan directly to register.

Students who fail to cancel an appointment within 24 hours and do not show up will not be allowed to make a second appointment that semester.
Appointments slots are added to the online scheduling platform on Wednesdays. If you log on and there are no options available, it is because all available appointments have been booked. We ask that you do not e-mail the prehealth team to request additional appointments.
