Nominate a teacher for the HSS Diversity in the Classroom Award

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences Diversity Advisory Board (DAB) is calling on students to nominate an HSS faculty member for our annual "Diversity in the Classroom" Award. The DAB is looking for faculty members who have shown commitment to diversity in the classroom, including by:
  • demonstrating inclusive teaching philosophies and practices
  • enhancing students’ understanding of diversity broadly in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, nationality, ability, age, religion, region, sexuality, class, etc.
  • maintaining a comfortable classroom atmosphere that helps students express diverse views
To nominate a faculty member, please fill out this short survey with comments on how your nominee met or exceeded the criteria. You may nominate a faculty member from a current or former HSS course.
Nominations are due by midnight on Tuesday, December 4th, 2018.
Members of the HSS Diversity Advisory Board, winners from the past four years, and GAs and TAs are not eligible for nominations (see the nomination form for full details).
