Introducing InfoReady Competition Space

The Office of Research is happy to introduce Competition Space from InfoReady Review for limited submission programs, competitions, and other internal opportunities. Research Development will be transitioning all limited submission programs to Competition Space beginning April 1.

Competition Space makes it easy to find open limited submissions and submit notices of intent or campus pre-proposals by logging in with your UCSB NetID.

Carsey-Wolf Center Faculty Research Awards

The Carsey-Wolf Center invites proposals from one or more UCSB faculty members for support for research projects that engage with one or more of the following research initiatives:

Global Media
Information Media
Media and Democracy
Media and the Environment
Media Industries

The next deadline is April 15th, 2019. Up to $5000 in support may be requested. Possible proposals may include:

Funding for conferences, symposia and workshops
New teaching initiatives
Summer graduate student research assistance for faculty projects
Seed funding for new research initiatives, either individual or collaborative
Proposals for hybrid events that involve a public screening at the Pollock Theater and a research-focused session with one or more visiting scholars

Limited Submission programs restrict the number of applications, nominations, or proposals that an institution is eligible to submit to an agency. Research Development is hosting weekly Write on Site (WOS) sessions to provide a space for UCSB faculty to drink coffee and work on their research funding proposals and other writing projects. Our staff will also be available if you want to stop by to discuss a proposal or possible research project.

COS Pivot is available to faculty, staff and students. Access is available via a campus network, or sign up for an account for off-campus access.
