I can hardly believe that my time in the dream job that is MUDEC Student Activities Coordinator has come to an end. The six academic terms that I worked from January 2021-June 2022 have been so remarkably different from one another, but as I pack my bags, I find myself reflecting on three aspects that they all had in common.
First, I am fascinated by the diversity of Luxembourg—-its people, its languages, its landscapes, and the opportunities it offers to MUDEC students. All it takes is a little time and effort to peel back its layers.
Next, I am inspired by the community of alumni and friends of MUDEC, and the active interest they still take in the student experience today. Hearing about the countless ways that their time in Luxembourg has impacted their lives is truly astounding.
Finally, I am struck by the resiliency of the students I had the privilege of working with, and the ways they sought to make the most of their time here despite occasional hiccups. They fashioned their experience with patience, creativity, and flexibility, and left MUDEC with uniquely personal memories that will stay with them well into the future.
I want to sincerely thank my colleagues at MUDEC, all the alumni I had the pleasure of meeting, and above all the students for giving me such wonderful experiences over the past year and a half. I look forward to seeing you back at the Château someday!
