Dear friend,
This year, parents and guardians have partnered with Andover like never before. We thank you for sticking with us and for your continued support and encouragement throughout the new learning environments, uncertainties, disappointments, and successes.
One meaningful way that parents have helped to strengthen Andover is by donating to the Parent Fund. On behalf of the Parent Development team, I’d like to share a snapshot of our progress for the 2020–2021 Parent Fund with all PA families.
The Parent Fund is a vital part of the Andover Fund, which is the Academy’s annual giving program. It provides critical support for the Academy and its commitment to students, faculty, and staff. Andover’s leadership depends on this resource to meet annual expenses and, in this school year, the Parent Fund has helped address exceptional needs for health and wellness initiatives, remote learning technology and training, and financial aid. All gifts to the Parent Fund also count in the Academy’s Knowledge & Goodness campaign.
Since the start of the school year, Andover parents and grandparents have made steady headway toward our Parent Fund goals. Here are some Parent Fund numbers as of December 31:
Parent participation ► Aspiration: 100% ► Progress: 39% This figure aligns closely with our FY18 and FY19 midyear participation rates.
Parent Fund dollars at 62% of goal ► Goal: $3.2 million ► Progress: $2 million (cash and pledges) While down from our recent annual midyear figures, gifts ranging from $50 to $50,000 and higher have made this progress possible in the spirit of non sibi.
Inspirational highlights ► 457 current parents have contributed to Andover this year. ► Over 100 families from each class year have made a gift to date. ► 622 gifts and pledges under $1,000 have been received. ► 200 parents and grandparents made a gift to the Academy in December alone, a 36% increase from December 2019.
Together, parents are making a difference in the Academy’s ability to optimize the learning experience for every student, whether remote or in-person, while prioritizing health and safety.
PA Giving Day We are excited to revive the tradition of PA Giving Day for our global community of alumni, parents, and grandparents this spring. Details will be shared soon. (Those who have already donated may choose to opt out.)
Ways to help Consider volunteering for the Parent Fund Committee, hosting a reception in the year ahead, or assisting with welcome outreach to new Andover parents over the summer.
