November News

October was a wonderfully full month and you will see the calendar is full again! We have all kinds of fun events coming to keep us busy through the new year.

We want to thank you all for donations that have been made for our family that had the home fire. They are overwhelmed with the amount of items we were able to get for them. They are so appreciative and so are we! It takes a village, thank you all for the help and participation! We love our WB village!

Students will need to pre-pay for the Winter Wonderland Bazaar. Registrations coming home. Please have them put registration and $5 in an envelope and place in PTO money box by front door. Email if you are interested in volunteering for the event!

Winter Warm-up Kids Race

The Annual 12South Winter WarmUp run Kids Run will benefit Waverly Belmont, Glendale and Julia Green Elementary Schools. The Kids Run will be a closed-course road race around Sevier Park (3/4 of a mile) and take place at 7:00am, just before the main race. All children ages 5-13 are encouraged to participate and parents are welcome to run with their children. To get everyone stretched and in the spirit, a pre-race warm-up session will be lead by Mr. Tomalo! 

We did this race last year and the kids loved it. It was a lot of fun to watch them and cheer them on before heading out on the 6 or 12K runs starting at 8am. 

This year they are spreading the donations among 3 schools so when signing up make sure to choose Waverly Belmont and if friends are signing up, ask them to choose WB too! 

We are going to have a class competition to see who can get the most students registered! The winning class gets a PIZZA PARTY! Sign up today!

Student Government (SGA)

The Student Government will be leading our Student Service Projects this year as well as presenting information from 7 Habits of Happy Kids by Sean Covey. This is a book that staff and students are focusing on for the social and emotional growth of our student body.

Fall Social
Waverly Belmont's Fall Social is an opportunity for the caregivers of Waverly Belmont students to get together and socialize. Our children are friends, why shouldn't we be? Last year we had a great time at the event and expect the same fun this year. We have food, drinks and live music! Plus no children! In addition to all the fun we will have a silent auction.

Safe Streets
Are you tired of drivers who routinely fail to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks on 12th and 10th Avenues South? Council Member Colby Sledge advised the best way to get light-up crosswalks installed along the busiest / most dangerous sections of 12th and 10th, recommended we get a petition going which he can take to Nashville Public Works. He believes we have a strong chance of getting this passed! Please sign & share!
