COVID-19 Campus Reminder

Staff can meet with students in-person, but will also continue to meet remotely via phone, Zoom or Google Meet, if preferred. Miami University requires face coverings indoors at all times, regardless of vaccination status.

Looking Back at IEW 2021

This year, International Education Week (IEW) offered in-person and virtual events to celebrate the diverse array of cultures on our campus and provide students, faculty, and staff the opportunity for global engagement.
Congratulations to Ms. Lucrita Osman, Food Service Assistant, Housing, Dining, Recreation & Business Services, who received the Donald Nelson Award for Outstanding International Student Support.
The Faculty Award for Innovation in Global Programming was awarded posthumously to Dr. David Shrider, Associate Professor of Finance and Director of Global Business Initiatives.

Six Miami Students Named Gilman Scholars

Six Miami University students have been awarded Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships to help fund their study abroad experiences this spring and summer. The combined total awarded to these students is $27,500.

Global Learning Collective Virtual Internship

The Global Learning Collective invites students across the world to participate in a virtual team-based internship to solve real-world organizational challenges related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). Internships will take place February-April, 2022.

Miami Lingua Mater Competition: Enter Now!

Miami Lingua Mater Competition
Can you translate Miami’s Alma Mater and/or Fight Song into your mother tongue, a language you are learning/have learned at Miami, or ASL and sing/sign it? Students and alumni are invited to translate our Alma Mater and/or Fight Song and submit a performance video.
Submission deadline: February 25, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. USA Eastern Time

Global Initiatives is currently hiring for two positions for 2022. Applications should be submitted through the Miami Jobs Site:
  • The Education Abroad Advisor supports education abroad (study abroad and away, global academic service learning and international internships) by advising students, faculty and staff on various opportunities and options.
  • The Student Activities Coordinator (SAC) is a temporary position which provides support to all co-curricular realms of student life at the Miami University Dolibois European Center in Luxembourg.
