Happy Frozen Tuesday, everyone, and welcome to another special non-Monday edition of the Spring, 2026, CHDCM newsletter!
Despite the very unpleasant (that’s the official term) amount of snow and cold we’re dealing with, I hope you’ve had a great start to the Spring semester, and that your classes are already going well! As you’ll see from all the entries in this newsletter, there is already a great deal going on within the College this semester, and even more percolating for later in the Spring and early Summer!
One thing I’m excited about is already coming up tomorrow night: the kickoff for our COMA CHAMP mentorship class, which connects undergraduate students in Communication, Media, and the Arts with alums working in the field! It’s a fantastic evening celebrating our students and alumni community, and I can’t wait to see everyone and hear about the great internships and job opportunities that arise for this year’s mentees! This year’s COMA CHAMP class is our biggest yet! We’re also already looking ahead to warmer weather, when we kick off our 2nd class of EDST CHAMP students later this Spring.
The CHDCM was also featured at last week’s Capital Campaign Roadshow, For All, Forever, held at the Montclair Art Museum. As part of the evening’s program, I was interviewed by our amazing undergraduate student, Niamh Campbell, and also got to spend some time with a crew from our fantastic SHU TV (Gino Grenato, Sean Jean-Francois, Brianna Beck, and Cooper Roche) who were filming behind-the scenes interviews and capturing the event for the College. It was a great night in celebration of our College’s programs, our students, our alums, and the current fundraising campaign intended to strengthen our resources—in order to create even more amazing, one-of-a-kind opportunities for our students and faculty!
There are so many things going on right now, in fact, that I will just stop here—and ask you to read on, and catch up on the news and notes from our College community. I hope that you all stay bundled up this week—it’s legitimately cold out there—and otherwise I wish you all a fantastic couple of weeks!

Angelina Diaco is a junior Visual and Sound Media major with a concentration in Sports Media, graduating May 2027. Originally from Scotch Plains, New Jersey, her passion for sports began at a young age through playing multiple sports, most notably softball. Growing up around athletics shaped her perspective, especially through her uncle, Bob Diaco, a longtime football coach who is currently the Defensive Line Coach at UNC. Being exposed to the behind-the-scenes world of college athletics inspired Diaco to pursue a career in sports media, where storytelling and sports intersect.
Diaco is involved in both sports media and campus leadership. She has served as a sports anchor for SHU TV since her freshman year and is now a Sports Producer, while also working as a photographer for the Pirate Sports Network, currently covering men’s basketball. In addition, she holds leadership roles within the Collegiate Panhellenic Council (VP Programming and Scholarship) and Delta Phi Epsilon (Member at Large), helping plan large-scale events and oversee chapter operations. Her experience extends beyond campus through her work as a production runner for ESPN’s College GameDay, as well as her involvement in Order of Omega Honors Society, the CHDCM Honors and Alumni Mentorship Program, being an Orientation Leader (Summer 2025), and alumni-focused initiatives through her Legacy Scholarship. Above all, Diaco values balance and prioritizes time with family and friends, which continues to ground and motivate her.
