Sharing Your Love Through Shoebox Mail
A fun ongoing activity to help bolster positive family communication is to make a mailbox (empty shoe boxes work great or Hobby Lobby has wooden ones with a flag you can put up) where you can leave encouraging notes for your child and they in turn can leave messages for you. A simple note with a sticker that mentions something you love about them can go a very long way.
You can also encourage your child to write down any questions they may have about things for you. Sometimes children feel safer writing things than saying it out loud.
Have fun with it and be sure to save special notes as keepsakes!
