OsoAble
Save the date for our OsoAble transition to adulthood event on October 17 at the Hurd Welcome Center! This full-day event is tailored for adolescents and young adults ages 14-30 with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), their parents, educators, and service providers. It aims to provide valuable information about postsecondary opportunities for transition-aged youth and young adults with IDD. This will be a good opportunity to learn new tips and connect with others who share similar interests!
The Center is Hiring a New Program Manager for Our Disability + Advocacy Project
We are seeking a Program Manager to lead and coordinate the implementation of our new Raising Texas Voices project. The purpose of this two-year research project is to study how different generations of Texans with developmental disabilities and their families (a) view disability and their experiences, (b) engage in advocacy, and (c) prefer to learn how to advocate effectively. Our findings will inform statewide advocacy strategies, training formats, and outreach efforts in order to improve overall engagement across the diverse disability community in Texas.
