AUTHENTICITY
As a mom of kiddos with disabilities and behavioral differences, I am constantly evaluating which environments my kids will be accepted in. Will they be included? If they are having a difficult time, will other parents understand? Can my kids and myself be authentically ourselves and still find belonging? At FIT4MOM, the answer has always been “yes,” which is why I’m still involved a decade later.
At FIT4MOM, one of the company values is Authenticity. Our hope is that each person who comes to FIT4MOM feels safe to be fully themselves. The human experience is full of nuance, shiny parts of ourselves are intertwined with shadow sides in a beautiful, complicated masterpiece.
Maybe you’re a creative introvert who dances with depression with each passing season. Your whole self is welcome here.
Maybe you have the extroverted energy of a puppy and have been told your whole life that you’re “a lot” or “too much”. Your whole self is welcome here.
Maybe you grew up a rural, country girl, and living in a rapidly-growing city causes you high anxiety. Your whole self is welcome here.
Maybe you’re crushing it at work, but your role as “Mom” is much harder than you anticipated, and you battle self-doubt every single day. Your whole self is welcome here.
When we choose vulnerability to be our authentic selves, we are paving the way for others to do the same. We are committed to the discomfort of bringing our shadow sides into the light alongside one another, acknowledging our shared humanity.
So if you’re wondering if you or your kids are “not enough” or “too much” to come to FIT4MOM, know that your authentic self is welcome, just as you are.
With love,
Becca
