After a light lunch in the center of town, we visit the Quinta de la Regaleria, an extravagant 19th century gothic mansion that is surrounded with some of the most elaborate gardens of Sintra. Bring your supplies today as you can enjoy some light sketching or painting within each of these stunning properties. You can then bring your sketches back to our private studio in Cascais for more time to paint.

After we leave Sintra, we'll stop for a quick visit of Cabo de Roca, a cape on the west coast of Portugal in the Lisbon Region. It is the westernmost point of the European continent, which is the main reason most visit this place. The views from the cape are quite spectacular, and if time permits, you can photograph and sketch this incredible landscape. We finish the day with another lovely group dinner.

Suggested Accommodation: Hotel Baia - Cascais
Included Meals: Breakfast and dinner

DAY 8 - FRIDAY - IN THE HEART OF LISBON

Today we start our day with a morning painting workshop with Margaret in one of the lovely squares around the city. Next, we visit one of our favorite museums, the National Museum of Ancient Art which enjoys the reputation of sheltering the largest collection of paintings, at least nationwide speaking. We'll then have a lovely lunch followed by an afternoon at leisure. Perhaps you’ll be interested in taking a sightseeing bus to see the many different corners of the city. We recommend the narrow streets of Alfama. The old historic district of Alfama is such a beautiful area to wander around. It’s probably the most authentic district in Lisbon, and one you should take the time to explore more.

We will then reconvene later on around 7pm for a Sunset Fado & tapas walk. Fado is a music genre that can be traced back to the 1820s in Lisbon, but probably has much earlier origins. It is a type of popular Portuguese song, usually with a melancholy theme and accompanied by mandolins or guitars. A must see while in the capital city! You'll finish the tour with a delicious and authentic Portuguese tapas dinner with wine, all whislt listening to captivating Fado music.

Suggested Accommodation: Tesouro de Baixa in Lisbon

Included Activities:  AM painting atelier with Margaret + Sunset Fado & tapas walk
Optional Activities: Visit of the National Museum of Ancient Art (€15 entrance fee + taxi)

DAY 9 - SATURDAY - A DAY OF EXPLORATION

We give you a full day to explore the city and its many wonders. Maybe you’d like to hop on a bus to do a city tour, or lose yourself in the little streets and narrow passageways of the city. You can simply wander the streets of Lisbon to make some amazing discoveries: several incredible viewpoints over the rooftops of the old Lisbon, interesting street art, local restaurants, galleries, cafés and little shops. You will pass several churches and old buildings with uncountable different patterns of Portuguese tiles. All to inspire your creativity!

As you can see, you’ll have plenty options to choose from on your day at leisure.

Meet up in the late afternoon for an informal show of your artwork and group critique. Enjoy a few drinks together before heading out on our fun sunset boat tour on the Tangus River.
