We know that many of you spend long hours on campus working in labs and studios, studying in libraries, and teaching and taking evening classes. Should you find yourself on campus at night, Parking and Transportation Services provides assistance to help you get home safely.
All of the services below have instituted safety precautions and social distancing guidelines during COVID-19.
SURE Walk
All graduate students can request a SURE Walk, a service where UT employees accompany students, staff and faculty members on walks home or provide a complimentary cart or car ride, depending on the service area. SURE Walks are available 8 p.m. - 2 a.m., seven days a week (excluding holidays and when dorms are closed).
UT Night Rides provides credits for students to take a Lyft away from main campus to their homes from midnight to 4 a.m., seven days a week (excluding holidays and when dorms are closed). Night Rides must originate on campus, and homes must be located within service areas. See the Night Rides website for more information and instructions on accessing this service.
Shuttles
The university’s shuttle system provides an easy and cost-effective way for students, faculty, staff and visitors to access the UT campus. There are ten shuttle routes available to travel to different campus locations. UT students, faculty and staff may ride the shuttles at no charge with a valid UT photo ID.
We wish you the best during the remainder of the fall semester.
Sincerely,
MARK J. T. SMITH Dean of the Graduate School Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs The University of Texas at Austin
