Hello!
I am sending my weekly update early this week in honor of our spring/Easter break this Thursday and Friday. Here are this week’s updates:
On-Campus Vaccine Clinic for Students
The college is strongly recommending students, faculty, and staff be vaccinated. In partnership with Baptist Memorial Healthcare, the college is able to offer our first on-site vaccine clinic.
The first vaccine clinic is being opened first to students in order to be able for students to get both vaccines before the last day of classes. This will allow students who want to be vaccinated to do so without impact to finals week, and it will result in a higher community vaccination rate going into the fall semester, which will be beneficial for the entire campus and the city. We will schedule additional clinics in April for faculty and staff. Please review the following information about our first clinic including appointment information.
April 7th Vaccine Clinic
- The Vaccine Clinic will be held in the BCLC at our COVID-19 Testing Site.
- The April 7th Clinic will administer the Pfizer vaccine.
- If you sign up for the April 7th Clinic, you will then be scheduled for your second dose on April 28th. The second dose will also be administered on campus by Baptist.
- It will take about 30 minutes to go through the vaccine processes, and so please plan accordingly with your class schedule.
- Our first clinic will allow for 300 individuals to be vaccinated. The vaccine appointment sign up will be open for student priority until noon on Thursday. At noon on Thursday, any remaining appointments will be offered to faculty and staff. This is in order to maximize vaccine use and minimize waste. It is critical that if you sign up for an appointment you show up at your appointment time in order to minimize vaccine waste.
- Please only sign up for one appointment.
- April 7th Vaccine Appointments may be scheduled here.
Additionally, the City of Memphis is now vaccinating all adults. All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to visit covid19.memphistn.gov/vaccine or call (901)222-shot (7468) to schedule an appointment.
Testing
The COVID-19 asymptomatic testing site will be closed this Friday, April 2, along with all college offices, in observance of the Good Friday holiday. Residential students are required to test once this week.
