CONGRATULATIONS TO THE 2016 HMC SCHOLARSHIP AWARD RECIPIENTS!
The Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber is pleased to announce the 2016 Scholarship Award recipients! This year, the Hispanic Chamber will award $160,100 to 50 of the brightest and most promosing Latina/o students at the Scholarship Awards luncheon in May.  
HMC Scholarships range between $2,000 to $10,000 and are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and demostrated community service.

The Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber will host the Scholarship Awards Luncheon on May 3 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. Tania Sanchez Bilingual Admissions Counselor at Portland State University will give the keynote address. 
Tania Sanchez is a first generation Latina student originally from San Jose, CA. She grew up in Beaverton, OR and after graduating from Southridge High School attended Portland State University. Taniawent on to graduate from Portland State with a degree in Spanish. Upon graduation, she began her professional career working at the Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber, as scholarship coordinator, where she discovered her passion for working with students’ access to higher education.
Tania currently works as an admissions counselor for Portland State assisting a wide range of students with the admissions process and navigating the college system. Through her position, she has been able to present at national conferences, host scholarship workshops, and serve as a liaison for various community partners. Tania serves on a number of committees on campus, including the Diversity Scholarship, Undocumented Student’s Resource Group, and the Refugee and Immigrant Student Issues.
Tania will be receiving her Masters in Post-secondary Adult & Continuing Education from Portland State University this Spring.
