The GW Office of International Medicine Programs (IMP) is excited to share this Winter 2022 edition of our newsletter with updates on our programs which educate and train medical students and graduates from GW and around the world.
Within this newsletter, we highlight a GW medical student who was the recipient of two scholarships that allowed him to spend his summer in Malawi conducting research with a GW faculty member. With July marking the beginning of residency for first-year residents around the U.S., we are also pleased to feature current residents who started their training in GW’s Internal Medicine department after completing IMP’s Medical Research Fellowship Program (MRFP). In addition, this fall, IMP welcomed two alumni of the online Summer Research and Medical Enrichment Program (SRMP) to GW’s campus for the first time to participate in a clinical rotation through the long-established International Clinical Electives Program (ICEP). Their experiences and that of the research fellows who matched at GW highlight the potential trajectory of IMP programs for international scholars.
On behalf of IMP, we wish you a happy holiday season and look forward to sharing more news and updates in the New Year.
