Volunteer Opportunity: Tree Plantings
Coming this February and March, we will be planting tons of trees across Nashville, and we need your help! Trees help reduce storm water runoff, reduce the Nashville’s heat island effect, and beautify our streets and neighborhoods. In addition, by planting tree species that are native to TN, we are helping improve habitats that have been damaged and fragmented by increasing urbanization. We have several sites throughout Nashville that will need to be planted, so please contact Gray Perry if you want to help out. If you have never planted a tree before, visit our page for information on planting, watering, and planting seasons! Please check out our volunteer page for upcoming volunteer opportunities; in addition, if you want a volunteer opportunity for your group or organization, please email Gray Perry or call our office at 615-837-1151.

Help us take care of Nashville's urban canopy! Trees are a remarkably effective and low-cost solution to water pollution, so we are working closely with the Nashville Tree Foundation, the city, and other citizen groups to collectively restore Nashville’s tree canopy through the Urban Canopy Maintenance Program—and to plant 500,000 trees between now and 2050. Our objective is to reduce newly planted tree death by 70% by 2020.
