Get to Know Your Roommate!
Now that you’ve received your roommate assignment, we encourage you to reach out and introduce yourself!
Click here to check out this short video offering easy tips on connecting and preparing to room together this fall.
Before Move-In
It is important to connect with your roommate(s)! Have conversations about their likes and interests. Try not to make judgments based on your first conversation or social media profiles. Don’t worry if you’re nervous — they probably are too!
MSU’s campus is filled with a wonderfully diverse student population, and you'll likely be rooming with someone new to campus who is also going through the learning curve of figuring out this whole college life thing and living away from home!
After Move-In
After you move in, you will create a Roommate Agreement that outlines room and common area expectations and allows each person to voice their opinions. These are important conversations, even if you are living with a friend!
Remember: Your resident assistant (RA) is here to help! They can be a great resource to you as a sounding board or to mediate a conflict, and they will help you and your roommate develop the agreement.
