Journalist, screenwriter, Emmy-nominated producer, and playwright Keli Goff brings this timely world premiere to Baltimore Center Stage. In the tradition of The Vagina Monologues and For Colored Girls…, The Glorious World of Crowns, Kinks and Curls is a collection of monologues and scenes exploring the complex relationship women have with their hair. From afros to braids, weddings and funerals, falling in love, to grieving a loss, these stories serve as a powerful reminder that for Black women, in particular, hair is both deeply personal and political. Perfect for the virtual stage, these intimate stories will take audiences on an unparalleled journey into the world of Black womanhood.

Drama Desk and Obie Award winner Sayon Sengbloh (Eclipsed, FELA!) is a busy woman. She has been cast in the role of family matriarch Lillian Williams in the pilot for the ABC reboot of "The Wonder Years." Lee Daniels ("The United States Vs Billie Holiday") is the producer. Original Wonder Years star Fred Savage is slated to direct. In addition, the Tony nominee will be seen in a recurring role in the new drama, "Delilah," from Craig Wright, the creator of the long-running popular hit series "Greenleaf." "Delilah" premieres on OWN Tuesday, March 9. It is executive produced by Wright, Oprah Winfrey, and Charles Randolph-Wright (Motown the Musical)

Piano Lesson Revival

August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, The Piano Lesson, will return to Broadway in 2022. The play will star Samuel L. Jackson (The Mountaintop), John David Washington ("Black KKKlansman") in his Broadway debut, and Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple). LaTanya Richardson Jackson (left), who most recently appeared on Broadway in the production of To Kill A Mockingbird, is set to direct. The cast will star in the film adaptation of the play with another director.

Broadway & Beyond: Access for Stage Managers of Color is pleased to announce its second event to provide opportunities and education for stage managers of color. The event, Résumé & Interview Workshop: Always Be Prepared!, will be offered virtually on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 from 6:00-7:30 pm EST, facilitated by Patch Schwadron, Career Counselor Supervisor of The Career Center at The Actors Fund, and veteran stage manager Sherry Cohen.
