Class of 2021 Honor Grads

Congratulations,
Summa Cum Laude Students!

After a significant amount of research, and in line with most colleges and an increasing number of high schools, Cathedral has implemented a new program that replaces the Valedictorian/Salutatorian model. Our new model allows us to recognize the top 15% of the senior class. It should be noted that we have students attending prestigious and Ivy League schools who are not Honor Graduates. This is a true testament to how all of our students answer the call to greatness.
Pictured above, front row, from left to right: Madeline Claire Elson, Anna Katherine Shea, Lauren Alexandra Dubbink, Maura Kathleen Flood, Kieran McKenna McCauley, Nathan See Fiedeldey, William Galvin Teasley, and Matthew See Fiedeldey. Back row, from left to right: Taylor Rae Prince, Abygail Mae Dravis, Preston James Avery, Isaac John Michael, Levi Irvin Wojtalik, and Eric Michael George. (Kyleigh Savannah Braun and Grace Maria Delgado FaceTimed to learn about their honor.)
These scholars have worked very hard for four years and are now graduating in the top 5% of their class. We are incredibly proud of them, and have no doubt their academic talents will serve them well.

Congratulations,
Magna Cum Laude Students!

The next highest academic recognition is Magna Cum Laude. Congratulations to all! We are proud of you!

Innovation Center Update

April was another busy month for Innovation Center construction! Please click the above video for the latest time lapse video.
Crews have installed windows, floors, and drywall. Excitement is building, and we are on schedule to open the Innovation Center in early fall.
Plans are being made for an official ribbon-cutting to coincide with Cathedral's 103rd birthday on September 13. Please be sure to watch your email for details.

Thank you to all who have made this possible and helped Cathedral advance her vision to be the Catholic high school of the future.

Cathedral Receives $3 Million
Gift to Close Centennial Campaign

Cathedral High School Foundation, Inc. announces an anonymous donor has donated $3 million to the school to officially close our Centennial Campaign, the school's largest capital campaign, which raised well over the $25 million stretch goal.
The donation will create an endowment fund whose income will then be used to support enhancements to the current Language Support Program and Academic Support Program at Cathedral. Enhancements will include hiring two new positions, software purchases, and funding for psychoeducational evaluations that diagnose potential learning differences and psychological disabilities. Read the full story on our website. May God bless this donor and all donors who help Cathedral fulfill her mission and empower greatness in her students!

Summer is Calling!

Camp Cathedral is just more than a month away, and we can't wait to have our campers back on the Hill! We still have spots open in our Communication Camps, which include Speech, Creative Writing, Fairy Tales and Story Writing, and American Sign Language. We also offer Stem Camps, including Aviation and Flight Engineering, as well as Math Mania. Your student might also enjoy our Performance Camps, including Show Choir and CaTheatre Drama Camp.

Find out more and register here while there's still room!

Rising eighth-grade students are encouraged to participate in the High School Placement Test Academy. This course goes beyond a one-day practice test by allowing students to take two tests, one on Monday and one on Friday, with direct instruction from Cathedral math and English teachers between practice tests.  As a result, students and families will see growth in student scores, and students will leave prepared to maximize their scores on the High School Placement Test. Register here through Camp Cathedral.

Terrific Trivia

We were thrilled to welcome around 300 guests (FINALLY) back on campus for a safe and socially distanced Trivia Night, presented by Cathedral's official banking partner, Old National Bank.
Our winners were as follows:
-The Haas Table - 1st Place (Top group photo)
-The Old National Bank Table - 2nd Place (Middle group photo) They donated their proceeds back to Cathedral!
-The Bradshaw Table - 3rd Place/Best Theme Winner (Bottom group photo)

This year's Trivia Night was also in partnership with the Pride of the Irish Marching Band since they were unable to host Band Bingo in January. We raised around $35K to support the band as well as Cathedral's Family of Funds.

Thank you to Lead Judge Lisa Ford and her extraordinary team, as well as our dedicated Trivia Committee, made up of Justin and Jennifer Sage, Karen Kress, and Vince Eagan '04.
