Happy Halloweek! Lots of great events are happening this week and next: French Halloween Party (Wednesday, 29 Oct from 1:00 to 2:00), CS+LING LinkedIn Workshop (Thursday, 30 Oct from 12:30 to 1:45), French Club Horror Movie Night (Thursday, 30 Oct from 5:00 to 7:00), Italian Music Workshop (Monday, 3 Nov from 12:00 to 1:30), Movie Day with the Pacific Islander Think Tank (PITT) (Thursday, 6 Nov from 11:15 to 2:15), as well as our many weekly Conversation Hour events. Tell your students, and join in yourselves!
As we make it to the middle of the semester, it’s a good moment to think about ways to help students to take charge of their learning. UIC offers many resources to help with challenges like stress, food insecurity, time management, and figuring out career goals. UIC also offers free tutoring for numerous courses in addition to the LCLC’s own language peer tutors.
Registration for Spring 2026 starts next Monday, 3 November 2025! It’s time to spread the word to prospective students about all the wonderful, inclusive, fun, and useful programs we have in LCSL. You can help by sending us an image and caption or a 15-30 second video about yourself as a teacher, your commitment to teaching, your love for your favorite subject, or that shows how approachable you are, along with a caption that we can post on our LCLC Instagram and LCLC Facebook. You can be on the lookout in the next few weeks for our tabling events as well, where we directly reach out to students on-campus to show how great and welcoming our programs really are.
