Dear parents and families,
It was great to see our students, faculty and staff having fun and getting creative at our campus-wide Halloween costume contest last week. Even Chancellor Martin and I participated! Check @washustudentaffairs to see photos and celebrate the winners tomorrow, Nov. 5.
It is hard to believe that we are now in November and fall has finally come to St. Louis! As the weather changes, we encourage our students to utilize the many well-being resources including getting their flu shots and attending our numerous well-being programs including the new "Well-being Wednesday" weekly event that features educational programs, a farmer's market and free healthy snacks.
Here are a few Student Affairs highlights for November:
|
-
Starting Nov. 11, students can begin registering for Spring 2026 courses. As your student finalizes their schedule, consider encouraging them to explore a one-credit, eight-week Dialogue Across Difference course. The course gives students the tools to practice civil discourse across difficult topics and a range of perspectives.
-
Many students are thinking about internships, research opportunities and post-graduation plans. The Center for Career Engagement can help your student connect with experiential learning opportunities.
-
I will host one more Dr. G’s Fun House this semester. This is a low-time-commitment, high-fun event that is FREE for your students, featuring outdoor winter games, crafts and food outside Sumers Rec Center on Dec. 2, 2-5 p.m.
|
Wishing you and your family well as we look ahead to a successful last half of the semester.
Warmly,
Anna “Dr. G” Gonzalez
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
