|  | Baptisms are always a joyful and beautiful part of worship. This week's were no exception when we baptized third-generation St. Beezers, Hazel Reed, and Anne Lisette Reeves. Julia and Katherine, the mothers, were baptized and grew up together as friends at St. Bartholomew's. They are daughters to Steve Thorne & Zena Carruthers and Rick and Sandy Wood, respectively. It is a gift to have all of them as active parts of our church community! Welcome to the family, Hazel and Anne Lisette.

At the 11 a.m. Service
We are looking for four more readers for the late service. Individuals should be able to read aloud with confidence. Commitment to rehearsing the lesson ahead of time and to participating in a short training session is required. Readers are scheduled quarterly. | Our annual Season of Gratitude and Generosity is underway! We hope that you will enter this season prayerfully and with intention as you consider how God might be asking you to invest in St. Bartholomew's in 2022 with your treasure, time, and talent.
Fr. Sammy asks three things of the St. B's family during this season:
(1) Give Thanks: Take an accounting of the gifts for which you're grateful to God.
(2) Offer Generosity: Ask God how you can make a sincere gift of yourself in return. And, then,
(3) Act in faith. Make a Promise of Support for 2022
The first two things are between you and God. The third is between you and St. B's -- Promises of Support are how we build our budget for 2022.

| COMMEMORATING ALL SAINTS
& ALL THE FAITHFUL DEPARTED
All Saints' Day is one of the seven principal feasts of the church year and one of the four days recommended for baptisms. It is the day in the church year where we remember all saints, known and unknown. All Saints' is commemorated on November 1 but can also be celebrated on the Sunday following. Fun fact: The day before November 1, All Saints' Day, is October 31, popularly known as Halloween. Learn more about the connection between Halloween (All Hallows' Eve) and All Saints' >>>here.
Commemoration of the Faithful Departed extends All Saints' Day and pays special attention to family and friends we love but see no more. It is also known as All Souls' Day.
In preparation, the church office is collecting the names of parish friends and family who have died in the last year. Please email the church office with the names of anyone you would like included.
All Saints' Day Holy Eucharist
Monday, November 1, 12:15 p.m.
Our typical midday Eucharist on November 1 will use the readings and prayers for All Saints' Day.
All Souls' Day Requiem
Tuesday, November 2, 12:15 p.m.
A requiem is a service of the Holy Eucharist offered on behalf of the departed. Learn more >>>here. At this service, Fr. Sammy will read aloud the names of those who have died.
All Saints' Sunday, November 7
Holy Eucharist at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
On Sunday, November 7, St. B's will celebrate All Saints' and the Commemoration of the Faithful Departed at our morning services. We will use the readings and prayers for All Saints'. The names of family and friends who have died this past year will be listed in the bulletin. If you would like to contribute to the flowers in remembrance of the departed, please email Teresa Robinson.
All Saints' & All Souls' Evensong
Sunday, November 7, 4:30 p.m.
In a year of so much loss, please join us for Evensong oriented around praying for the people and situations we grieve. It is a service of hope amid grief and a proclamation of our belief that Christ has conquered death. This year's service will include contemplative music inspired by the Taizé tradition, some well-known hymns and will also feature the choir's return. Candles will be lit, and chimes will be rung in remembrance of the departed. All ages are welcome. Childcare is available for 3 years and under with an advanced RSVP to nursery@stbs.net.

Mark your calendars to do some holiday shopping at the Art & Craft Fair featuring St. B's artisans! A portion of all proceeds will go to the Gallery. Visit the fair between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

ROOM IN THE INN
Colder weather is on the horizon, and that means Room in the Inn is, as well. This will be St. B's 36th season of serving as a winter shelter for RITI. Every Saturday, November through March, we host 12 guests experiencing homelessness. Volunteer by yourself or with your family to prepare dinner, breakfast, or lunch, drive the van, stay overnight, or wash laundry. There are ways for all ages and stages to participate in this significant and essential ministry. Sign up to volunteer at the button below. Email Matt Poag with questions.

STAFF UPDATE
Fr. Sammy is pleased to announce that we have hired a part-time ministry fellow. Aidan Sullivan has joined the staff to support Alysha Moroni and youth formation, Meredith Flynn and children formation, and Sally Chambers-Rhea and St. B's communications. If the name sounds familiar, Aidan grew up at St. B's! He is a graduate of Birmingham Southern College and the Nashville Fellows program. Welcome, Aidan!!!
