Congratulations to all CALS Class of 2021! The College of Agriculture & Life Sciences and the University of Arizona are eager to celebrate your success.

We're excited to share that we're hosting one in-person graduation ceremony - a combination college and university celebration. The ceremony will be a unique combination of a college convocation and a University commencement.

UArizona/CALS Graduation Ceremony*

Thursday, May 13, 2021
7 pm, Arizona Stadium

Limited Guests: Each graduating student will be able to bring up to four guests to the in-person commencement ceremony if public health conditions continue to allow it.
RSVP Required: Students have the option to RSVP for the in-person ceremony or to RSVP to participate virtually.
Online Viewing: The in-person ceremony will also be streamed live and recorded.

*The UArizona/CALS ceremony will also include graduates from the College of Education.

TIP: Make sure to have your graduation photo and Thank You message ready when you RSVP. You’ll be asked to upload that info as well.

The College of Agriculture & Life Sciences invite graduating students to submit for the honor of speaking at the May 2021 UArizona/CALS Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, May 13 at 7pm in Arizona Stadium.

Guidelines

To apply to be the student speaker, prepare a 2-minute speech and submit your written remarks below. Your remarks ought to tell the audience what your education in CALS and the University has meant to you and what the future might hold for you and your classmates.

Process

Speeches will be reviewed by a committee of CALS academic advisors and faculty. Finalists will be asked to deliver their speech virtually before the committee during the week of April 19 (finalists will select a 15-minute time slot). The committee will then select the student speaker.

Deadline: Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 11:59 pm AZ time.

The speech submission form will direct you to a Microsoft login screen. That’s the correct destination. Please enter your UA email address; you’ll then be directed to sign on with your NetID.

Save the Dates: CALS Graduation Pick Up

As you prepare for the May 13 UArizona/CALS graduation ceremony make sure to save these dates and times to pick up CALS graduation related items:

Monday, May 10: 9 - 11 am & 1 - 3 pm, Forbes Building
Tuesday, May 11: 11 am - 1 pm & 2 - 5 pm, Forbes Building

Face Covering Required

Students and visitors must use a face covering when inside the Forbes Building and practice physical distancing of at least 6 feet.

Graduation Medallion: Each college recognizes their graduating students differently. In CALS, we recognize all graduating students with an antique gold medallion stamped with the CALS logo. Read more below!
Career Center Graduation Gift: Congratulations to the Class of 2021 on this tremendous achievement - you did it! As a special send off, we'd like to give all graduating students a gift to help prepare for professional life after graduation. Read more below!

Did you RSVP for guest tickets for the May 13 in-person ceremony? If so, you're responsible for picking up your guest tickets prior to the event. You'll receive an email from University Commencement with guest ticket pick up information (date, time and location).

CALS Graduation Medallion

Each college recognizes their graduating students differently. In CALS, we recognize all graduating students with an antique gold medallion stamped with the CALS logo and affixed on a red ribbon.

Undergraduate and graduate CALS students participating in the May 13 ceremony are asked to pick up their graduation medallion prior to the event - see pick up dates and times above. On May 13 students are asked to wear the CALS graduation medallion as part of their graduation regalia!

Career Center Graduation Gift

The CALS Career Center would like to congratulate the Class of 2021 on this tremendous achievement - you did it!

As a special send off, the CALS Career Center would like to give all graduating students a gift to help prepare for professional life after graduation: a CALS branded padfolio, lunch bag, pen, shoe shiner and business card holder!

The CALS Career Center graduation gift will be available for pick-up only in the Forbes Building lobby the week of graduation - see pick up dates and times above.

Students who are unable to pick-up their gift are welcome and encouraged to let the Career Center staff know the next time they are on campus to schedule a time for pick-up.
