Upcoming Campus Construction Projects |
Consistent with the University's usual approach, there are several campus maintenance projects scheduled for this summer ahead of the fall semester. Of note, the summer maintenance schedule includes:

- South 40 telecom relocation project
- Phased roadway excavation on Wallace Drive from May 18 – June 30, weather permitting

In consultation with the City of Clayton, we will temporarily open the gate at Wallace Drive near Wydown Boulevard to facilitate vehicular access to the Wallace Garage and South 40 loading dock.

All construction equipment will access the site through the Forsyth Boulevard and Wallace Drive intersection. The sidewalks on the east side of Wallace and north side of Wydown Boulevard will remain open for pedestrians throughout the duration of the telecom relocation project.

- Roof replacement for multiple residential buildings on the South 40
- Contractors and cranes will be on site May 18 - July 31, weather dependent.
- Sidewalks and lawn areas within the South 40 will be closed during the replacement work. Follow all posted signage for detours.

- Olin Library roof replacement

Work is in progress to repair the damaged WashU sign at the corner of Big Bend Blvd and Forest Park Pkwy.
- A masonry contractor has been engaged. Work is expected to last two months.

WashU receives $200M commitment for public health |
The landmark investment, the largest in WashU history, will help the nation meet current and future public health challenges. The gift is being made by the Bursky Family Foundation, and will drive immediate growth, including faculty hiring, scholarships and new research initiatives, while advancing a broader effort to rethink how public health is taught, studied and applied.

Youth Program | Art Sings! |

Middle and high school students are invited to experience Art Sings!, a summer workshop where the visceral sparks of visual art and music intersect to unlock participants’ creativity and foster cross-disciplinary thinking.
During this immersive half-day workshop led by nationally recognized composer and teaching artist Neil Ginsberg, students will explore visual art, collaborate with peers, and create an original musical composition. Workshop participants are also invited to attend a live Opera Theatre of Saint Louis dress rehearsal of Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet at the Loretto-Hilton Theater in Webster Groves.
This event is offered in partnership with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis.

| Public Tour: Looking Back Toward the Future |
Join us for an interactive tour of this season’s featured exhibition, Looking Back Toward the Future: Contemporary Photography from China, which presents more than forty large-scale photographs created by fourteen contemporary artists in China between 1993 and 2006. The exhibition is divided into three interrelated thematic sections—The Presence of the Past, East and West, and Performance and the Body—which together explore how artists used performance and diverse photographic and aesthetic methods to capture, freeze, and criticize the new sociopolitical, economic, and cultural environment of China post 1989.
On view for the first time at the Kemper Art Museum, these immersive, often oversize works constitute a significant recent addition to the institution’s holdings of contemporary Chinese art.
Led by student educators, the Museum’s public tours encourage visitors to learn and discover through close looking, conversation, and creative engagement with artworks on view.
Free and open to the public.

The WashU Medicine Farmers Market is held year-round* on Thursdays from 10:00am – 2:00pm, rain or shine. The market is held in McDonnell Pediatrics lobby during the spring and winter, and at the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy Quad during the summer and fall.
Vendors bring only the freshest produce and products to the market. This year, vendors include:

Cerebral Palsy (CP) Family Day is an annual event at the Missouri Botanical Garden that is free to all families of children living with CP in the greater St. Louis area. The event provides an opportunity for families to build lifelong connections with each other and to plan for full and long lives for their children with CP.
Event programming is split into two separate tracks, allowing caregivers to connect and gain resources while children with CP and their siblings enjoy fun activities in the accessible garden.
