Community Support in Action: Nevah Shalom’s Food Drive Fights Hunger |
Delivery Coordinator Rafael Covanzi helps transport 1450 pounds of food from Nevah Shalom's recent food drive.
Our Free Food Market recently received an incredible donation of 1,450 pounds of food from the local synagogue Nevah Shalom, enough for 1,208 meals.
“Nevah Shalom continues to be a valued partner in our fight against food insecurity,” says Jim Cooper, Food Pantry Program Manager. “This year's food drive total is the largest we've seen for Nevah Shalom. These generous donations will help feed many households in the local community.”
The dedication of Nevah Shalom and its congregation directly supports the Free Food Market, so we can provide fresh, healthy food. We are deeply grateful for their support and the difference they’re helping make for their neighbors.

Exploring Emotional Learning on Mellow Mondays |
Teachers in the after-school School Age program recognize the youngest children in their charge need more guidance, including identifying their feelings.
“Mondays are hard for everybody, even if you like going to school,” according to Teacher Cat Simmons.
To help the students learn more about their emotions, teachers created Mellow Mondays, which features calming, meditative activities each week: yoga, painting or journaling with jazz.Â

Head Start Celebrates Farm to School Month with a CRUNCH!
In celebration of Farm to School Month, our Head Start program joined schools across the nation for Crunch Day on October 17th. It's a way to help students discover the fun in eating fresh fruits and vegetables.
At precisely 11am on Crunch Day, every child and teacher took a big bite of a locally sourced apple - crunch! Crunch Day was a fun way to promote healthy eating and support local farmers.
