Holiday Closures

The Senior Center will be closed July 4th for Independence Day.

The Center will also be closed the week of July 28 to August 1. We're giving our hardworking staff a well-deserved break to rest and recharge.

Thank you for your understanding—we look forward to welcoming you back on August 2.

Through PSU's Senior Adult Learning Center, Oregon residents who are 65 and older can audit up to 8 credit hours per term, year-round, without paying tuition. Dive into subjects that excite you, from history and literature to music and languages. There is something for everyone! 

Grab your popcorn and snacks and gather in the living room. Movie time is the first and third Wednesdays at 1pm.

There are two options each month for learning more about Medicare, a complex and sometimes overwhelming topic.

Andy Dow will present on Wednesday, July 9th and August 13th at 12:00 pm.

John Waters will present on Friday, August 1st at 12:00pm.

Both Andy and John are passionate about educating and helping people make informed decisions about their healthcare needs. The goal is to provide personalized guidance, ensuring that clients understand their options and receive the best coverage for their unique circumstances.

Please note that Shuttle Bus Driver Eric Duckett will be off work July 7-31 so field trips will be on hiatus during that time.

Field trips and Rides are reserved through Ride Connection on a first-come, first-served basis until space is filled. Ride Connection will call you to confirm your reservation a few days prior to the scheduled ride.

To book your reservation(s), call 503-226-0700 no more than 2 weeks in advance, but at least 4 business days in advance.

July 3rd, Thursday - Dodge Park | FREE

Join us for a picnic/potluck lunch at this wonderful park located at the confluence of the Sandy and Bull Run rivers. There are picnic table and grassy areas as well as a beach with swimming access. Pack your own lunch. If you want to bring something to share, we will provide plates/napkins, water bottles & a sweet treat.

No Trips July 7th - July 31st

August 4th, Monday | City of Corvallis | 10:00am-3:00pm

Home of Oregon State University. We will explore the downtown area and eat lunch there, then possibly venture out to one of the city’s parks.

August 7th, Thursday | Sauvie Island/St. John’s | 10:00am-3:00pm

We’ll stop at one of the farm stands for a bit, then journey onward to the Wildlife Viewing area to see what we can find. Lunch in St. John’s neighborhood.

August 11th, Monday | Oceanside | 9:00am-5:00pm | $10 trip fee

Join us for a trip to this delightfully small ocean town. There is a lovely beach and a tunnel passage to an adjoining beach. Eat lunch at one of the small cafes or pack your own. The $10 fee is to help offset the cost of gas. If that causes a financial hardship for you, please speak to Eric or Lovie.

August 14th, Thursday | Powerland Heritage Park | 10:00am-3:00pm 

A campus community of 14 independent museums and event spaces reflecting the history, preservation, restoration, and operation of antique equipment, vehicles, steam-powered machinery, trains, trolleys, logging equipment, and farm implements. Free, but donations suggested. Lunch at In N’ Out burger in Keizer.

August 18th, Monday | Mt. Saint Helens National Monument | 9:00am-5:30pm | $10 gas, $10 entrance

This will be a long day! We will ride up to the main entrance of this National Monument in Washington. After a stop at the visitor's center, we’ll disembark at Coldwater Lake to walk around and have lunch. You must pack your own lunch for this trip as there isn’t enough time to stop anywhere. Please come prepared for variable weather conditions!

August 21st, Thursday | OMSI | 10:00am-2:30pm | Free

Jurassic World exhibit and other ongoing exhibits. Plus, you can upgrade your experience by going to the submarine or IMAX theater (extra fee required). We will get lunch at Wonderlove Food Court, or we can discuss more risqué dining options…

August 25th,  Monday | Swan Island Dahlia Festival | 10:00am-3:00pm | Free

Stroll through almost 50 acres of breathtaking fields and a beautiful display garden of stunning dahlias featuring over 375 varieties. Food carts onsite.

August 28th, Thursday | Gordon House (Frank Lloyd Wright) | 11:00am-3:00pm | $22 entry

Guided tour is 45 minutes and begins at noon. This needs to be reserved in advance so you’ll need to sign up with Eric ahead of time (and then you’re locked in!) Lunch afterwards in Silverton.
