| Welcoming International Students to Campus
| Global Friendship Programs encourage the Miami University and Oxford communities to connect with people from all over the world to develop new perspectives in the spirit of fellowship and appreciation for cultural differences.
During international student orientation, Global Friendship Days bring first-year international and domestic students together to learn from one another and share experiences focused on common interests and differing perspectives. This year's Global Friendship Days are scheduled for August 17-18.
But global friendship is not just for first-year students! Check out these additional opportunities:
- Global Buddies connects domestic and international students.
- Global Neighbors connects international students with Oxford community members and Miami faculty/staff.
Also, for those looking to connect with Miamians from across the world this summer, you are welcome to attend our Global Friendship BBQ Cook Out from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 29 in Peffer Park. Grilled meats and veggies, along with drinks will be provided. Attendees are also welcome to share a food dish or game. Please register in advance:

Help Global Initiatives Meet Our #MoveInMiami Goals
Miami's annual Move In Miami Day of Giving is August 18, but your small act can help make a big impact sooner! There are several Global Initiatives funds available to choose from to support the diverse cultural and global learning experience for students and campus community.
No gift is too small! For example, this year, we are aiming for 25 gifts of any size for the International Student Emergency Fund and another 25 for the Study Abroad Fund.
Additional opportunities to support Miami in Luxembourg, the Institute for Learning in Retirement, and others are available.
Please help us reach our goals by sending your gift today!

It's not too late to #FindYourPlace in a winter faculty-led study abroad/away program! Winter programs offer an incredible chance to earn credit while gaining skills for your major or future career. For example, Integrating Spanish and Health in Costa Rica provides an opportunity for students who want to build language skills, participate in experiential/service learning, and explore global health care issues in Heredia, Costa Rica. In this short video, hear from program leader Professor Nohelia Rojas-Miesse.
