Warm Hearth Village Newsletter
Warm Hearth Village Newsletter
2020 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, founder of modern nursing and has been designated Year Of The Nurse! Warm Hearth Village is proud to celebrate our superheroes – the Registered and Licensed Practical Nurses who are the life-blood of our organization. They are a dedicated group who take outstanding care of and advocate for our residents and clients when they are at their most vulnerable.
“Throughout my tenure at Warm Hearth Village, I have developed an enormous respect for the nurses who choose to serve our elders.  Nurses are truly the heart of healthcare at Warm Hearth Village and I could not be more thankful for the compassion and dedicated professionalism demonstrated on a daily basis by our nursing team," says Ferne Moschella, President and CEO.

Join our celebration by taking a moment to thank a nurse or giving words of encouragement as you see them working throughout the Village and in your community.

Warm Hearth at Home encourages you to be proactive and speak to your health care professional. Simple lifestyle changes are often effective in preventing the disease even if you already have one or more risk factors.
Practitioners can order home health services for qualifying patients to help educate, support, and treat those who have recently been diagnosed with diabetes. Warm Hearth at Home wants to be your home health agency of choice for all your therapy and skilled nursing needs.

20 YEARS IN 2020

In the ever-changing workplace where retention is a challenge for many industries, Warm Hearth Village is proud to recognize a group of nearly 20 employees who have given 20 or more years of service in 2020. They represent almost every discipline at Warm Hearth, from nursing to administration to maintenance and dining services. It takes a village, and we are so thankful they are part of ours!
TIMEBANK FOR BETTER LIVING

Monday, March 9th
11 am-Noon
The Village Center
2387 Warm Hearth Drive, Blacksburg

The New River Valley TimeBank helps connect people to exchange skills and services using time rather than dollars. When a TimeBank member provides one hour of service for someone, they earn one "Time Credit". Time Credits are spent by receiving an hour of service from another TimeBank member. The possibilities for exchange are endless and include home repair, animal care, yard work, cooking lessons and computer instruction to name a few. All services are valued equally and all members are respected for what they have to offer. It is an old idea made new - the idea that our community is stronger when neighbors make a practice of helping each other. TimeBank has been developed and supported through the efforts of the NRV Livability Initiative and the NRV Aging in Place Leadership Team. Join Ellen Stewart of the New River Valley TimeBank to learn how you can become involved in this dynamic and useful program.
Fundraising nights are a great way to support local restaurants, feed your hunger and raise funds for neighbors in need at Warm Hearth Village.
