Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Spanish instructors: your language students can apply to become a tutor/LLA! Applications are open for our current 104 & 200+ students. Our program helps hundreds of BLP students get the support they need to learn a new language, provides the tutors/LLAs themselves with valuable work experience that makes them stronger candidates for jobs and internships, and benefits LCSL as tutors/LLAs take upper-level language and culture courses, bolstering course rosters and major/minor numbers and encouraging BLP students to take the next step in their language journey.
Registration for Spring 2026 is ongoing, and we want to extend our thanks to those of you who volunteered to publicize with us in Student Center East these past few weeks! Together we reached hundreds of students with information about our programs. We captured some of your hard work at the events in photos you can see below.
There’s still time to help get the word out about your programs, and you don’t even have to leave the house to do it! Just send us your 15-second videos and/or photos with captions and we will post them on our LCLC Instagram page to show everyone how your program is thriving! Students love hearing about what their professors enjoy about teaching their language, fun facts about their language, their favorite things to do around this time of year, and fun facts about themselves (pets, hobbies, etc.). To publicize your program, send an email to lclc@uic.edu with:
|
- A photo of yourself with a written caption (1-2 sentences) about any of the above topics, and/or…
- A very short (15-30-second) video of yourself talking about one of the above topics, or an audio with a picture or animation.

More recruiting for your 200-level classes: LCLC tutors/LLAs are doing their part to publicize our programs by visiting 104 and 200-level classes in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Spanish to encourage students to continue to 200-level classes and to become tutors/LLAs. Let’s all work together to show UIC how valuable and adored our programs really are!
