Looking ahead to the start of the school year donât forget that some of the greatest gifts you will receive at the University will come in the form of relationships. Take time to get to know those around you, your professors, your peers, staff and upperclassmen at the University. They will teach you things about the world, and yourself, you may not learn otherwise.

Find a way to connect to the campus community beyond the classroom -- Go to the involvement fair! Join an Intramural sports team, volunteer through DOVE, go to that campus inclusion event. Youâll do better academically and holistically if you fully immerse yourself as part of the SHU community.
-
Invest in meeting your people -- Push yourself to meet classmates, faculty and staff on campus. Find people who inspire you and intentionally spend time with them. The beginning of the year is a great time to introduce yourself. Everyone is in the same space with a lot of people they donât know. Have the courage to speak up. Your future friends, and greatest teachers, are all around you.

â{My Professor} was inclusive, allowing everyone to participate and facilitate discussions. I enjoyed being a part of the class, and I learned a lot with the presentations made by the professor. I was confident in how my first semester at Seton Hall went because I had {them} to guide me and my classmates.â - Student
