Are you interested in providing support and opportunities to help others receive assistance, guidance, mentorship and education while building your public speaking skills, learning about college health topics including nutrition, mental health, healthy relationships, and alcohol, tobacco, and other substances, basic needs, and MORE? If you answered yes to any of these, then the Peer Health Education (PHE) Internship Program or Peer-to-Peer Support Program might be right for you!
The Peer Health Educator program and the Peer-To-Peer Support Program are paid on-campus internships offered through Student Health, Counseling, & Wellness Services. These are great opportunities to build leadership skills, explore careers in health and wellness, create peer-led health programs, provide mentorship, and offer support all while receiving health and wellness training, and having fun in a supportive environment!
Opportunities and Benefits
- Educate your peers on college health topics through the development of workshops, classroom presentations, special events, and other activities.
- Create a campus ecosystem that supports health & well-being by developing health education materials, including social media to help your peers make informed health decisions.
- Facilitate outreach to promote health services and connect students to resources to support their wellness.
- Be a Peer-To-Peer Support member, learn crisis and de-escalation skills, active listening, and tools to provide peer to peer support in a culturally competent and diverse environment.
Employment Period: August 2024 - May 2025
Pay starting at $16/hr.
Flexible work schedule, 15-20 hours/week.
