Enroll in BISP 99, BISP 199, or BISP 197 Students can earn academic credit for conducting independent research with a faculty or industry mentor. Complete the required application and research plan to earn credit for Spring 2019 once you have identified a lab or faculty/PI.
Deadline to apply for Spring 2019 is Friday, March 15th by 4:00PM. Details and web-based application links can be found on Research for Academic Credit.

BioScholars and Triton Consulting Group invite you to participate in the 2019 Annual Biotechnology Case Consulting Competition (BioTechathalon). Participating in this biotech-business hackathon competition is a fun learning experience that gives students the opportunity to engage in answering an interesting, real-life challenge that a biotech company might face. For this interdisciplinary competition, we encourage you to form diverse teams and show off your mad skills in a race to win Cash Prizes! The link to register will be open through March 18, 2019. Wildlands Studies in Alaska - Summer Field Program
This program is designed to inspire practical solutions that promote conservation of Alaska’s ecosystems for generations to come.
This summer, team members will earn 15 quarter credits (10 semester credits). NOTE: credit towards UCSD Biology majors is not guaranteed. To be considered for major credit, students should consult with their major department and possibly petition for credit.
Identifying key species in Denali National Park and Denali State Park, such as grizzly bears, moose, caribou, wolves and the iconic Dall sheep! Backpack and study the abundance of life that calls the Kenai peninsula home and understand local ecosystems, and more. To learn more about the program and to apply visit, Wildlands Studies.
