MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL
Mrs. Susan Oweis

Providence operates on a Continuous Enrollment Contract, ensuring your child’s seat is protected and automatically advancing them to the next grade unless you opt out by the deadline. This streamlined process reduces hassle for parents while reinforcing our commitment to earning your trust daily.
Key Considerations for Parents
1. Evaluating Fit
We recognize that no K-12 program is perfect for every student at every stage. While we strive to provide the best education, there may be compelling reasons for a change. If you have concerns about your child’s success, we welcome those conversations. For families relocating, transitions are inevitable and account for a significant portion of our attrition.
2. Parental Guidance in School Decisions
Today’s students exert more influence over school choices than previous generations. However, major educational decisions require wisdom and long-term perspective from parents. Students often feel that that alone should make the decision and pressure their parents to do so. It’s crucial to filter their concerns through a parental lens. While middle school complaints are natural, teachers often see a different reality—students who are happy, engaged, and thriving.
3. If Your Child Expresses a Desire to Transfer
Before considering a change, ask yourself:
  •  Why did you choose PCS initially? Our curriculum and culture are unique and not replicated elsewhere.
  • What has shifted in your thinking to reconsider such a different path?
  • Can your child articulate what they expect from another school—friendships, athletics, academics?
  • Do they understand what they’d forgo by leaving? Our high school offers a distinctive experience, including the “classical” curriculum, travel opportunities, smaller classes, and a strong community of faith and values.
More Than a Contract—A Community
Your relationship with Providence extends beyond enrollment. We are a dedicated community committed to your child’s growth, providing an environment shaped by shared faith and values. We deeply invest in our students and hold your trust as a sacred responsibility. We love you and we don’t want to see you go.

In His Service,
Susan Oweis
SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

Raul Reyes
What grade did you start at PCS?  I started going to PCS in Kindergarten.

Do you have any favorite memories at school?  One of my favorite memories is when a few of the high school guys got permission to decorate the boy's bathroom with LED lights during lunch period. Another favorite memory was always spending time with my friends at PCS.

What's been your favorite area of study/subject?  My favorite areas of study are theater and science. I especially enjoyed learning about biology and geology.

How has PCS help you beyond just book learning?  PCS has helped me to be more social. I was shy but I am not any longer. From the classes I took, to the social gatherings I attended, I learned to interact with people more and more. In many ways I was forced you to get to know people and make friends.

What are your thoughts about the future, college plans?  I will be attending Liberty University in the fall. Currently I plan to study both Biology and Theater. Both of these subjects are and extention of what I loved at PCS.

What advice do you give to the younger students at PCS? My advise to younger students would be to figure out the best way that you can learn and the best way for you to remember what was said in class.

What will you miss about PCS next year?  I am going to miss how friendly and helpful all of the faculty and staff are. No matter what, all of the teachers are super willing to help you and everytime that I needed help, they were always there for me.
Friends enjoying the beautiful sunshine.

No Uniform Fundraiser Day

Students can pay $5.00 and wear regular clothing for that day. Clothes should not have holes in them and be the appropriate length. No leggings, tight fitting clothing, crop tops, short shorts, or flip flops. Sandals should be closed-toe and have a back.
Parents, thank you for helping with this before your child leaves the house.
Please see Mrs. Ciprian, Mrs. Smith, or Mrs. Machie to pay your $5.00 and participate. You may pay on that day as well.
Thank you for supporting this fundraiser so we can provide our students with updated outdoor play equipment.

The PCS Parent-Teacher Book Fellowship is a time for gathering with other PCS parents to engage in a Socratic discussion on a piece of classic literature led by our English/Rhetoric Teachers. 11th Grade Chemistry students perform a lab designed to demonstrate stoichiometry principles.
The Mother/Son Event is Friday, March 7.
RSVP by Monday, March 3rd to Tabatha Hunt.

The Challenge:  Mother/Son teams will design, build and test out their balloon car before ultimately putting it to the test against other teams' cars! Cars are not made before the event.
We've gotten quite a few emails asking about balloon cars.   Building a balloon car is a fun STEM activity utilizing materials you can find around the house to build a car powered by air shot from a balloon.  There are many different ways to build them and you can get some ideas if you google or search on Pinterest for "balloon car stem activity.”
Prayer Buddies.
