Congratulations to Mae Gordon, PhD and colleagues on their newly published paper in JAMA Ophthalmology! |
Their newly published paper, "Quality of Life and Primary Open-Angle Glaucoma in the Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study," in JAMA Ophthalmology (August 2024) reveals groundbreaking findings. Their research reports that patients with glaucomatous optic nerve damage but no visual field loss maintain a similar quality of life to controls. However, quality of life declines slightly with visual field loss in one eye and substantially with loss in both eyes. These insights will aid clinicians and patients in making informed decisions regarding examination frequency and treatment initiation.
