It’s been a productive summer at Gateway85, continuing to deliver value for our property and business owners. From honoring the officers who keep our district safe to spotlighting member organizations like Special Olympics Georgia, our collective efforts are strengthening relationships and enhancing the district’s reputation as the place to do business.
On the infrastructure front, we have partnered with Gwinnett County to kick off the Center Way at Brook Hollow intersection improvement project — a key investment in safer, more efficient access for employees, customers and freight. Looking ahead, the County’s newly adopted Small Area Plans include Oakbrook Parkway and Venture Drive within our district. These plans provide a long-term roadmap for land use, economic development and mobility improvements that will directly benefit property values and business growth.
You can read more about the Center Way project and other initiatives in this issue. We encourage you to keep reading and see how our shared investments are shaping the future of Gateway85.
Together, we are building a stronger, safer and more connected Gateway85!

Gateway85 CID recently rolled out the red carpet — and the burger buns — for the Gwinnett County Police Department’s West and Central precincts and the City of Norcross Police Department. On Friday, August 8, we hosted a special food truck event to show our appreciation for the officers who keep our district safe every day.
Dinner was provided by The Patty Wagon, where “the food is so good, it’s criminal.” Over several hours, 82 officers enjoyed made-to-order burgers and fries, served up with a healthy side of gratitude.
The West Precinct’s Officer Martinez was recognized as July’s Officer of the Month and received a Gateway85-sponsored gift card for going above and beyond in service. Moving forward, Gateway85 is proud to partner with the West Precinct to award a monthly gift card to its Officer of the Month, ensuring we continue to celebrate our partnership and the vital role these officers play in keeping the Gateway85 district safe.
“Our partnership with Gateway85 CID is a true example of how community support strengthens our ability to serve,” said Major Griffin, West Precinct. “This recognition means a great deal to our officers and reinforces the value of working together to keep the district safe.”

Gateway85 CID and Gwinnett County have officially started early planning for an intersection improvement project at Center Way and Brook Hollow Parkway. While the project is still in its initial phase, funding has been secured through the Gwinnett County SPLOST, marking a key step toward addressing traffic flow and safety in this high-traffic area.
“Projects like this reflect the long-term vision we share with Gateway85 CID to strengthen mobility and safety across the district,” said Edgardo Aponte, director of the Gwinnett County Department of Transportation. “We’re looking forward to exploring solutions that best serve the businesses and commuters who rely on this corridor.”
The CID will share additional updates as planning progresses.
