You've met our staff and taken the tour. Now it's time to meet your fellow Jumbos!
This Week's News and Announcements
"What's a Jumbo?"
As an incoming Tufts students, you're part of a community that includes over 5,000 undergraduates in Arts & Sciences and Engineering. You're also part of a larger community that includes almost 6,000 graduate and professional students, 1,500 medical and dental students, 1,200 international students, and 1,400 faculty members. We're a dynamic, passionate, inclusive group -- and we can't wait to meet you!
There are over 300 Student Organizations at Tufts, and about 93% of your peers participate in one or more of them. We have groups for Arts and Performance, Media, and Club Sports, and there are plenty of leadership opportunities with our Student Government. Make sure you check out the 2017-18 Student Organization of the Year, the Buddhist Mindfulness Sangha! We also have a group on campus called Another Option that is dedicated to planning substance-free programming at Tufts.
For questions about Student Organizations or campus events, contact OCL any time: ocl@tufts.edu.
"What's the Group of Six?" The Group of Six are a resource for students thinking about social identity, and they provide opportunities for events, leadership, community, and discussion. Students of all identities are welcome in each center.
We'll provide you with a bigger and better introduction to the "G6" later this summer. For now, we hope you enjoy a preview of what the Centers have to offer:
Your New Student Checklist 2018 will be posted next week on May 22. It will include the Housing Survey for all First-Year students and the Advising Survey for First-Year BA/BS students, both of which open on May 22.
